Job description

Role purpose:
To supervise a number of distribution assistants ensuring that team members carry out all aspects of the distribution process in line with current best practice and to NET-A-PORTER’s stringent standards.Also ensuringthe resources are allocated in such a way that work is prioritised to meet time lines and is completed within agreed levels of service.


Key Responsibilities:
To ensure that NET-A-PORTER levels of quality are maintained at all times.
To ensure that all staff are properly trained to carry out the duties assigned to them.
Monitor the performance of staff in your area and feedback results.
Maintain good working relations with your own team, and other departments by communicating effectively.
Be proactive in approach to problem solving and decision making.
Ensure staff are gainfully employed at all times
Manage performance issues promptly and professionally.
Enhance the working environment through building a cohesive, productive and positive team atmosphere.
Promote a continuous improvement environment
Effectively support decisions made by the business and your managers.

Skills and Experience:
Proven commerical experience of managing/leading teams in a warehouse/logistics/retail environment
Significant experience of motivating teams to achieve deadlines in a target-driven environment
Experience within a large retail organisation would be beneficial
Experience of performance management, coaching and mentoring
Strong track record of delivering quantifiable results in the workplace
Strong leadership skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team in addition to self-motivate when working autonomously
Highly computer literate
