Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • The Raw Material Technician is responsible for maintaining, tracking and all required details in order to deliver the best raw materials, to meet design aesthetic & vision whilst balancing quality, cost and speed.
  • Collaborating with mills, Hub Teams, US Raw Material teams and Supply Chain Partners to achieve the desired results
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES

Fabric Development and Sourcing

  • Accurately updates system and tools as required and completed within specified deadlines
  • Owns communication with mills, Hubs and US Raw Material teams
  • Executes wash development and ensure aesthetic and performance characteristics
  • Supports investigation of Trend research
  • Executes fabric development and ensure aesthetic and performance characteristics, under US design & raw material team guidance
Quality

  • Actively participates in pre-production meetings for garments sewn in country and mitigate any fabric quality issues
Process

  • Understands deadlines and ensures they are met. Proactively tracks development, Sample yardage, and bulk fabric quality.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Education & Experience:

  • Degree in Textile or related subject. minimum of 68 years of related work experience in sourcing and developing for knit fabric.
Skills:

  • Knowledge of fundamentals on knitting and weaving of cotton and synthetic fabric.
  • Knowledge of yarn, dyeing and finishing including performance attributes.
  • Experiences in handling raw material approval process .
  • Knowledge in reviewing and comments on the fabric test report.
  • Strong communication skills, organizational and follow-up skills
  • Positive and able to work in a team environement
  • Good communication skills in a teamwork environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills (English)
  • Good in MS Office - Word, Excel, Powerpoint
