The Project Manager, Asia, will work as part of Asia Regional Technology team and will be accountable for managing the implementation of System Solutions and Enhancement Changes relating to Aesop's Asia market. This implementation is critical to the successful market growth through our retail footprint and the various business.

Job description

Business Requirements Engagement

  • Business analysis planning and monitoring to determine which activities are necessary in order to identify and define relevant stakeholders, select appropriate techniques and processes to manage requirements and constant assessment of progress
  • Gather, organise and synthesize large amounts of information from various sources
  • Conducting (or give strong support) in workshops, requirement gathering, process workshops and documentation delivery
  • Convert (or assist in converting) business needs into functional designs and leads business stakeholders towards functional design decisions
  • Work closely with the operational and project teams to maintain a backlog according to business value or ROI
  • Articulate technical features, detailed technical user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Working with stakeholders to understand their needs, concerns and the environment that they operate in
  • Effectively communicate requirements to stakeholders, managing conflicts, issues and changes in order to ensure that stakeholders and project team members remain in agreement on solution scope and actual needs.
  • Effectively identify and define business needs and problems/issues to enable a feasible solution scope to be developed.
  • Assists and document the current state of business to identify and recommend improvements and verification and validation of resulting requirements
  • Determine (or assist in determining) the effectiveness of proposed solutions including the identification any associated risks as well as the risk for not implementing the solution
  • Develop documentation including Business Requirements documents and models; concept papers; design specifications and delivery of learning's to end user.
  • Coordinate and Monitor System Integration Testing and User Acceptance Testing
Project Management

  • Manage delivery of the required products by taking responsibility for overall quality, progress and use of resources, initiating corrective action as necessary. The role is responsible for the detailed management of:
  • Technical change and configuration required to implement solution
  • Business impact assessment and change management
  • Deployment of solution and supporting processes to the business and transition to BAU operation
  • Provide oversight and coordination of vendors who are responsible for technology implementation, and integration of this implementation into the overall stream plan
  • Manage the Aesop responsibilities, tasks and deliverables within the stream, and allocation of resources
  • Supporting on integration of the stream plan into the overall program plan, identifying and managing interdependencies
  • Actively manage, mitigate and/or resolve stream risks, issues and changes as they arise
  • Implement and operate project controls to identify exceptions and escalate as required
  • Manage stream baselines including scope, budget, schedule, resources and quality
Project Reporting

  • Overall progress monitoring and reporting, and timely escalation of exceptions
  • Stream governance and control, including operation of the steering committee
  • Present timely stream reports and tracking information to the steering committee to enable responsible decision making
  • Managing project closure including scope reconciliation, project performance assessment and capture of lessons learned
Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and motivate the team by fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
  • Identify and engage with stakeholders, including facilitation of relevant stakeholder working groups
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders including, yet not limited to, implementation third party vendor, Global Retail team, Heads, Directors and up tp GM Digital, Data & Technology, and operations teams.
Technical Requirements (or Certification Requirements)

  • Familiarity with all or at least some of these key enterprise systems, processes and flows including:
  • ERP and Finance, including experience with integrations into other systems
  • Supply chain processes (e.g. sourcing, merchandizing, production, planning, logistics, etc.)
  • Retail, POS, e-commerce
  • Familiarity with large enterprise system implementation processes and projects, both waterfall and agile
  • PMP certification is a plus.
  • BA certification(s) are a plus.
Key Experience, Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Solid experience in business analysis and projects as Project Manager or PMO support.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English required. Written and spoken Mandarin Chinese and other Asia languages preferred.
  • Experience in the Retail sector preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of software life cycle management preferable.
  • Experience writing business requirements, technical specs, user stories and test scripts.
  • Ability to translate technical 'jargon' into business language across all levels of the organisation and the ability to understand both the business and high-level technical aspects of a solution.
  • Exceptional analytical and communication skills.
  • Strong experience leading a large project team and delivering large global enterprise projects
  • Excellent organisational, time and self-management skills
  • Detail oriented, with a strong sense of initiative and excellent follow through skills
  • Broad local and global retail operations experience
  • Solid understanding of the technology capabilities the support a global retailer
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Good level of understanding of new technologies
  • Proficient in Atlassian suite tooling and Microsoft Office
