Job description

Overview

Shiseido Travel Retail Asia Pacific is looking for a Education Assistant Manager for our prestige skincare brand Shiseido in Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. This role will also be the Brand Education lead for Brand Elixir in all of APAC. This position is based in Hong Kong. As a key member of the Travel Retail team, he/she will be responsible to drive and execute the Brands' education strategy, to develop and deliver PRC consumer-centric retail training for our Beauty Consultants, promoters, and generic staff (GS) for our retailers.

Responsibilities:

Shiseido Training and Development (35%)

- To provide skill, service and product training to our Travel Retail Asia Pacific Beauty Consultants, promoters, and the generic staff of our operators to ensure sales goals are met and to maximize sell out.

- In collaboration with the Education Senior Manager, to support and execute the Brand's Education Strategy and retail training plans in accordance with marketing launches and sales strategies.

- Support the customization, translation, and preparation of training materials in accordance with brand guidelines to suit TR environment.

- Conduct classroom and virtual classroom training programs that focus on outstanding customer experience delivery, brand services, product knowledge and selling skills to support brand business strategy and marketing launches.

- Work with Education Senior Manager to evaluate training initiatives, analyse services & retail reports to make recommendations for improvement. Develop and execute on follow-up action plans.

- Responsible for all logistics and administrative work around training sessions including liaising directly with operators, training setup / materials / collaterals / testers and training gifts inventory upkeep, and uniforms.

- Work closely with Education Senior Manager to keep all training and traveling expenses within budget. Ensures compliance with all FIN, DP & Legal requirements, and processes.

- Establish and maintain Beauty Consultants' grooming standards and adherence to the Brand's image and guidelines.

- Support in the organisation of and facilitate training at annual BC conference & Boot Camp.

- Submits all training reports as required on timely basis.

Elixir Training and Development (40%)

- Overall Brand Elixir lead and main liaison with the Brand Holder.

- Develops and drives execution of Brand Elixir Education strategy/action plans that supports TRA Marketing and Sales Strategies.

- Develops, customizes, and builds TR relevant brand education materials and tools, and ensures translation and timely circulation.

- Facilitate training programs that focus on outstanding customer experience delivery, brand services, product knowledge and selling skills to support brand business strategy and marketing launches.

- To provide skill, service and product training to our Travel Retail Asia Pacific Beauty Consultants, promoters, and the generic staff of our operators to ensure sales goals are met and to maximize sell out.

- Follow-up post training with in-store / counter coaching to ensure training effectiveness and consistency of service delivery to achieve business goals and drive Retail Excellence.

- Collaborates with Marketing and Sales in planning, staff training and execution of consumer workshops and events, including live-streaming activities.

- Leads development, implementation and follow-up of innovative retail education initiatives and projects including eLearning content development.

- Overall responsibility for the Brand Education budget. Builds a bottoms-up budget that maximizes productivity and ensures effective use of resources; ensures accurate budget tracking and management throughout the year.

- Provides updates and supports 2-way communication with TRA leaders

Coaching to Drive Retail Excellence [Shiseido & Elixir] (10%)

- Together with the Retail Managers, develop and lead the execution of personalised coaching and follow-up activities that elevate and build Beauty Consultants' capabilities (includes product knowledge, selling technique, customer service etc) to drive Retail Excellence and achieve business goals.

Events and Live Streaming [Shiseido & Elixir] (10%)

- Collaborate with Digital Marketing, Marketing, Commercial and retailer teams in planning and executing brand events, consumer workshops and livestreaming (LS) activities.

- Support Team in event operations including crafting livestream dialogue, product training of LS hosts/KOLs/co-hosts and Promoter teams.

- Ensure key Beauty Consultants are equipped with livestreaming skills and knowledge, provide support and coaching as needed.

- Other ad-hoc event and livestream duties as assigned.

Operations & Administration [Shiseido & Elixir] (5%):

- Responsible for all logistics and administrative work around training sessions including liaising directly with operators, training setup / materials / collaterals / testers and training gifts inventory upkeep, and uniforms.

- Establish and maintain Beauty Consultants' grooming standards and adherence to the Brand's image and guidelines.

- Support in the organisation of and facilitate training at annual BC conference & Boot Camp.

- Submits all training reports as required on timely basis.

- Provide input to Retail team regarding reward and incentive plans for Beauty Consultants and to support Beauty Consultants' motivation programs and activities

- Provide feedback on product assortment, merchandising and stocks

Profile

Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in any related discipline.

- Minimum 5 years' experience as beauty trainer or in a related industry.

- Minimum 1-year livestream experience is preferred.

- Analytical skills and capacity to identify opportunities and propose action plans.

- Strong coaching, presentation, and communication skills.

- Strong command of spoken and written in English and Mandarin (Putonghua) is required, for classroom/event presentations and supporting translation of materials into both Traditional and Simplified Chinese.

- Independent, open-minded, dynamic, and team player with a passion for education.

- Highly organized, meticulous, and attentive to details.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel and PowerPoint.

- Travelling is required (30%-40%).
